The thing is, we're coming up with the updated Top 50 Hottest Young Actresses list and I'm afraid, it's taking more time than I originally estimated. There are some amazing casting news of late that I have to re-consider my final draft and added more than 10 new names on the list. - - -
- - - Also, the issue of age is being questioned - can someone like Natalie Portman or Ludivine Sagnier still be considered young? I guess, it's really a matter of perspective. Both still portray characters who are younger than their actual age and for that reason alone, I have to consider including both names on the list even though they might be a bit older than say, Saoirse Ronan or Emma Watson. Lastly, the list includes both established and up and coming talents, but don't be surprise if someone like Megan Fox is NOT on the list. It's all about young talents who are making a difference in movies, not the 50 sexiest pin-up girls. So, what do we mean by being 'hottest'?: Let me explain by referring to the guys. A friend of mine and some tMF regulars mentioned how some people compared our updated Top 50 Hottest Young Actors list with a popular magazine's top 10 rankings. I guess it has something to do with the word "hottest" - the point of comparison being TV celebrity and Gossip Girl regular Chace Crawford (that list also includes Adam Lambert) versus Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ben Whishaw. I'm pretty sure a lot of you would consider Chace as being 'hot' - in terms of his charm and sex appeal, that is. I'm also quite sure, many willl find both Joe and Ben to be amazing actors who have made some amazing movies you'd still want to see for the 5th or 8th times. I guess you can understand where I'm going already. - - - My original post starts here... I've received a couple of emails asking '...what about young actresses?' Yeah, we're back doing the tMF Top 50 Hottest Young Actors, and we're also doing the hitlist for the girls, and for those new tMF viewers, we actually did a hitlist for them already [ click here to view the last rankings ]. In our last hitlist, it was Natalie Portman who got ranked number one! - - -
- - - On the hitlist, here's what we have to say: Not only are they capable of lighting up the silver screen, they are also some of today's most talented young actresses, commanding huge fees - in some cases, in the millions. Many have won multiple awards, while others have starred in some of today's biggest box office hits. In short, we're listing down the cream of the crop! Just like our recent Top 50 hottest young actors, we've narrowed down our list from 75 to 30, and set an age limit. If you miss seeing some of your favorites, so do we - including Maggie Gyllenhaal (31 years old) and Amy Adams (34 years old). Definitely what you'll see on the list are emerging talents - the ones you will see getting the big roles in the near future - and some of them already have, with awards and nominations to boot. - - - It would be hard to outrank Natalie Portman, with all the buzzes around! Aside from the much-anticipated film, Brothers, where she acts alongside Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie has about six more projects up her sleeves. The only one capable of grabbing the number 1 spot is Keira Knightley who has five high-profile features herself, including Never Let Me Go, with perrenial favorite Charlotte Rampling. Oh yeah, before I forget there's Kristen Stewart and a group of beautiful and ambitious young talents including Dakota Fanning and Saoirse Ronan. But then again, we also have Zooey Deschanel to consider! Here's just a sampling of what they say about her latest, 500 Days of Summer: "500 Days of Summer" is one of those indie gems that has been building momentum since Sundance and, in the clip below, you'll catch a glimpse at why; On beyond a great script and no small amount of style, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel share a chemistry that would make you believe that they've been working together for years. Doubly surprising is finding out that they have. [ read more ] How about you? Do you have someone in mind? Let us know what you think! - - - |
